In lingerie business every one has to walk a thin line between being racy and descent all at the same time. Some companies cross the line and get marked for doom by a large percentage of their clientele. In Australia a company named "Innerware Lingerie" has made a booboo by deciding on having some fun. They run a TV ad that depicted a bra-clad woman in black, thigh-high stockings entering a tire shop to inquire of the counter clerk, “Can you fit me".
This ad did not run for long because it received some negative feedback from moms saying that it was not appropriate for their teenage sons. The company quickly turned off the ad and everted to another one that was just plain and acceptable (for teenage boys).
On one hand we do want companies to be innovative and to come up with new stuff to get our attention. On the other hand we do understand that a company with a client base made up from protective moms should listen to their clients. Perhaps the ad was not the problem but the fact where it was shown and at what time. Maybe it was appropriate to show the sexy lingerie ad during the evening hours when the teenage boys should be already asleep.
